Sarah in thought (black and white photo).

Hey, hey you.

I don’t know who needs to read this right now, but I’m hoping it’s passed along if it’s not you. If it is you, welcome, this is a safe space for us. Yes, I said us. A little about me – I’m pansexual, I’m gender-fluid/nonbinary, and I’m polyamorous. I prefer the pronouns they/them, but I’ve been she/her for so long and identify with the struggles of fellow female bodies that I go by she/her often. But this isn’t about me. This is about you, or the people you’ll share this with.

You’re valid, and your experiences are valid. Do you know exactly how you want to identify, look, love? That’s awesome. Be that authentic you. Are you still questioning, growing (we should never stop growing), exploring who you are, your ideal look, and how and who you love? That’s just as awesome. Life is a huge adventure, and throughout it all, you will be your one consistent partner on that adventure. It’s not an easy adventure, and there will be others who judge you, bully, you, and even (hopefully not) commit acts of violence against you or the community you’re a part of. I could talk more on them, but let’s not for now. This is about you. Whether you can openly be yourself, or you can’t, that’s ok.

I just want you to know that it…

It gets better.
You are not alone.
You are valid.
You are loved.
